Last week, we were privelidged to receive another visit from Antony Michaelson (Mr Musical Fidelity). This time he brought the new Musical Fidelity AMS 50 Power Amplifier. The AMS 50 is part of the new range of Musical Fidelity products, over the next few months we will be seeing the new M6 CD Player and integrated amplifier, the new AMS 100 and a new 35 watt class A amplifier. Today we will be concentrating of the AMS 50 and we will be talking about the other new products as we hear them. |

Ayon, one of our favourite manufacturers have realised two fantastic new CD players. The CD 1s replaces the CD 1 and the CD 2 (which is a completly new model) falls inbetween the CD 1s and CD 3. Both the new players feature a custom built CD transport mechanism by Austrian designer, Stream Unlimited, an improved Digital to Analogue Converter and unlike the previous model, the CD 1, the clamp and lid are now one piece. We feel that the improvments are enough to worry some of the house-hold names in the CD player audio market. From our previous article on Ayon Audio , you will know that we are a big fan of their products but now the new CD 1s and CD 2 are a significant step forward from their predecessors. |

In 1936 Peter Walker founded a company that's name would become synonymous with the best in music reproduction, that company was Quad and for over 70 years their philophisy of the ''the closest approach to the original sound'' has shown through on every product they have released. Quad is the only hifi manufacturer to ever have won the Queens Award for Technological Achievment and with legendary products such as the original Quad II Power Amplifier (1953), 33 / 303 pre power combination and of course the ESL 57 and 63 Electrostatic speakers, this is no suprise. Today Quad is distributed all over the world and is still one of the world's most respected manufacturers of high end hifi. The aims of Peter Walker from all those years ago still ring true in every new Quad product. |

 In 1984, Boulder Amplifiers was founded. Based in the foothills of the Colorade Flatirons, Boulder have made it their mission to design hifi equipment that is as awe inspriring as the Boulder Valley that surrounds their factory. Boulder's range of equipment comes in three levels, the 800, 1000 and 2000 series' but today I am going to concentrate on the 800 series.
The 800 series comprises of the 810 pre amplifier, the 850 mono amplifiers, the 860 stereo power amplifier and the 865 integrated amplifier. This is Boulder's starter range and is one we really like at Zouch Audio. |
