The Brio MK7 is a handcrafted, high-performance stereo integrated amplifier. As the latest iteration of Rega's best-selling amplifier, the MK7 is the most advanced and feature-rich Brio we've ever created. The engineering team has completely redesigned the Brio circuit, enhancing performance and reducing distortion. Encased in a sleek, custom half-width aluminum chassis, the Brio MK7 delivers an impressive 50 W per channel at 8Ω and 72 W per channel at 6Ω, offering plenty of power to drive even the most demanding speakers. The MK7 also features a Rega-designed onboard DAC with two digital inputs, providing increased flexibility for connecting to various other components. Additionally, a new mini system remote (compatible with future products) is included, allowing the unit to be powered on and off via the remote’s standby function.

Key Features:

  • Integrated Rega moving magnet phono stage
  • Rega DAC with two digital inputs
  • Headphone socket
  • Custom mini system remote control
  • Custom designed case
  • Standby and auto standby functionality
  • 50 W into 8 Ω & 72 W into 6 Ω
  • Short circuit protection
  • Thermal cut-out

A Masterclass in Dynamics

The Brio MK7 has been meticulously refined in every detail throughout its design process. From the selection of premium materials to the precision of its manufacturing, the MK7 stands as the most advanced Brio amplifier to date. This compact powerhouse includes a built-in Rega DAC, along with new features such as standby, auto standby, and thermal cut-out, marking a significant leap forward in the Brio lineage. It offers a range of connections, including three line inputs and a dedicated phono input with a moving magnet stage, perfect for enjoying your vinyl collection. The phono stage benefits from enhanced isolation between internal stages and high-quality op-amps that provide optimal gain for your attached cartridges. Known for its musicality, the Brio circuit continues to be praised as one of the most rewarding in its class, delivering even more refinement in this latest version. Its headphone output also provides outstanding performance, ensuring a top-tier listening experience in every way.

Re-laid Circuit

Significant upgrades have been made throughout the Brio MK7's circuit design. The PCB layout has been completely revamped to accommodate higher specifications for all critical components. A second raw power supply has been added to further isolate the output stage from the driver stage, line, and phono amplifiers, enhancing the separation between high and low-level signal stages. The line, DAC, and phono amplifiers now feature higher-grade MUSES operational amplifiers for improved performance.

Headphone Socket

The Brio MK7 includes an onboard circuit designed to drive standard hi-fi headphones directly from the internal amplifier. The headphone circuit has been carefully engineered to minimise its impact on the main signal path, ensuring it doesn't compromise overall sound quality. Special attention has been given to the switch that automatically deactivates the main speakers when the headphone socket on the front panel is in use.

Auto Standby

The Brio MK7 is equipped with an auto standby function that activates after approximately one hour of inactivity (no signal present on the selected input). The unit will automatically enter standby mode, though this feature can be disabled if desired.

Thermal Cut-Out

To protect the amplifier from potential internal damage due to excessive heat, the thermal protection system disables the speaker output if the unit reaches a critical temperature. This is indicated by the MUTE LED illuminating and the input LED turning off. If the temperature continues to rise, the unit will power itself off to prevent further damage.

Short Circuit Protection

In the event of a short circuit in the speaker leads, the Brio MK7’s fold-back short circuit protection will prevent excessive current from damaging the output stage. This protection circuit is placed outside the audio signal path, ensuring that sound quality remains unaffected.

"The Rega Brio has always been a strong contender in the affordable amplifier stakes and in its seventh iteration the Brio retains this advantage. You might find a smoother sounding amp and you will undoubtedly find one with more bells and whistles but I would challenge anyone to build something that has the authority and musical coherence that the Brio Mk7 displays for the same price. The box may not look very fancy but it’s solid in both construction and sound, and is capable of delivering top flight musical engagement in surprisingly revealing systems. If you are looking for an amplifier that will keep you entertained no matter what music you play this is the strongest option on the sub £1,000 market right now." Read the full review.
