Musical Fidelity M5xi Integrated Amplifier

The M5xi is a ground up reinvention of the acclaimed M5si, bridging the gap between accessible integrated amplification and the elite performance of Musical Fidelity's flagship TITAN power amp. Every critical stage has been entirely redesigned, utilising the sophisticated topology previously reserved for the M6si and incorporating the latest refinements from the newly released M6xi update. By tuning this world class architecture for a more focused power output, Musical Fidelity makes genuine high end performance more affordable than ever before.

The Son of TITAN Topology

At the core of the M5xi is a completely new amplifier layout configured as two independent monoblock power amps with a separate preamplifier, all sharing a single high quality chassis. This trickle down engineering includes a low distortion Darlington output stage that eliminates crossover artifacts while preserving tonal accuracy across the entire frequency range. To ensure absolute purity, the main transformer and power supply PCB are now encapsulated in a metal enclosure, a move that drastically reduces electromagnetic interference and benefits every internal circuit.

Modern Connectivity and Integration

Designed for the modern listener, the M5xi introduces HDMI eARC for effortless integration with home theatre systems and TVs. The digital suite is further expanded with new coaxial and optical inputs alongside a high resolution USB C input supporting up to 24 bit 192 kHz. A standout addition is the dedicated 5V 2A USB power output. Powered by its own separate transformer winding and linear power supply, this ultra clean output serves as a performance upgrade for external streamers by eliminating the need for noisy wall warts.

Refined Preamplifier and Phono Stages

The fully analogue preamplifier stage uses a high quality Burr Brown stepped attenuator, ensuring precise channel matching and stable stereo imaging at any volume. For vinyl enthusiasts, the phono section is a total revelation. Unlike its predecessor, the M5xi now supports both MM and MC cartridges. This newly developed stage features improved shielding and circuit optimisation, taking full advantage of the internal power supply encapsulation to deliver lower noise and greater transparency for your record collection.

Power and Versatility

While tuned for smaller rooms or shorter listening distances than the M6xi, the M5xi remains a powerhouse, delivering 160 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 240 watts into 4 ohms. This immense headroom ensures it can drive almost any loudspeaker with total authority. For advanced systems, the M5xi includes RS232 integration for custom installations and a home theatre bypass input for seamless multichannel setups.

Heroic Build Quality

The M5xi is housed in a massive metal casing that acts as a Faraday cage, protecting sensitive internal components from outside interference. The front panel is milled from solid extruded aluminum, providing excellent immunity against environmental vibrations. This heroic construction is complemented by a new, ergonomically redesigned remote control that offers unified command over the entire Musical Fidelity M line, combining classic high end aesthetics with modern, effortless operation.

We endeavour to despatch same day for orders placed up to 1pm on available stock items (items with stock message "Usually dispatched within 24 hours"). Please remember to check with us first for a physical stock check if next day delivery is important to you. Any items with stock message "Usually dispatched within 72 hours" are items that we do not hold in stock but order in from the importer or manufacturer as soon as a customer order is received. Occasionally these may be delayed beyond 72 hours due to importer/manufacturer stock levels but we will inform you as soon as we can if this is the case.

UK Orders

We despatch the bulk of our UK mainland items on a 24 hour service – Free of Charge. Non Mainland locations - Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish highlands and Islands, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland may take a day or so longer and are not Free of Charge. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail 24 or special delivery. Larger items are delivered using a courier service such as DPD or UPS.

International Orders

Due to the nature of our products and brand restrictions we are only able to send certain items internationally. Smaller items are delivered using Royal Mail Small Packets Airmail with International Tracked and/or Signed depending on value of item and availability of the service. Larger International shipments are sent by insured and tracked services using UPS. If there are any delays due to specific customs regulations, etc, you will be contacted by Hifisound or by the courier with a request for any further information required. Customs duties can apply for shipments to any countries outside of the UK depending on where the product you have bought is made. Customers are responsible for all taxes and duties incurred when the items enter their country.

Collect in Store or Home Install

At the request of the manufacturer some items cannot be supplied by mail order but you can click and buy them and then elect to collect them from our store or arrange a home install (if applicable). Applicable items clearly state that they are Collect in store or home install. Once ordered you will receive a message prompting you to contact us by phone or email to arrange for us to deliver and install or to reserve and collect from our store at your convenience, you will also be advised of the delivery time / stock availability as not all Home install / collect in store items are held in stock.
