The SPL Crossover Mk2 is a premium, fully analog active crossover engineered to seamlessly integrate subwoofers or bass loudspeakers into high-end audio setups without converting signals to digital. Powered by SPL's proprietary 120V VOLTAiR technology, the Mk2 features expanded frequency control, switchable 12 dB/24 dB roll-off slopes, continuous 360° phase alignment, and versatile gold-plated XLR/RCA connectivity. Available in Black, Red, or Silver, it offers audiophiles ultimate flexibility and uncompromising analog sound quality.

Key Features

  • Proprietary VOLTAiR 120V Technology: Operates at a +/-60V DC rail—four times that of standard op-amps—delivering massive dynamic range, high headroom, and rich detail.
  • Pure Analog Signal Path: Avoids digital conversion steps in high-end analog signal chains.
  • Flexible Crossover Frequencies: 18 selectable crossover points per section ranging from 20 Hz to 3.6 kHz across three frequency bands.
  • Selectable Roll-Off Slopes: Switch between 12 dB or 24 dB per octave slopes independently for High Pass and Low Pass filters.
  • Variable 360° Phase Control: Full analog variable phase alignment (0° to 180° and 0° to -180°) to sync subwoofers with main speakers, with a complete bypass (OFF) mode.
  • Integrated Low Cut Filter: 20 Hz sub-harmonic filter relieves amplifiers and speakers of inefficient, inaudible ultra-low frequencies.
  • Universal Connectivity: Gold-plated XLR and RCA stereo inputs and outputs, with output signals available on both formats simultaneously.
  • Mono/Stereo Low Output: Run single or dual active subwoofers with a flip of a switch.
  • 12V Triggering (AMP CTL): Smart power sequencing for up to four downstream amplifiers or components.

Pure Analog Integration for High-End Systems

Integrating subwoofers into a dedicated two-channel Hi-Fi system often forces a choice between acoustic compromises or unwanted Analog-to-Digital (ADC) and Digital-to-Analog (DAC) conversions. The SPL Crossover Mk2 solves this dilemma by offering a purely analog, ultra-high-precision crossover designed to preserve the integrity of high-end signal chains.

120V VOLTAiR Technology: Unmatched Headroom & Clarity

At the heart of the Crossover Mk2 is SPL’s reference VOLTAiR technology. Operating on a internal DC voltage of +/-60 V—four times higher than conventional semiconductor operational amplifiers—the custom SPL 120V SUPRA op-amps deliver exceptional technical performance. The result is an effortless, low-distortion listening experience marked by deep dynamic range and precise detail recovery.

Precise Control Across the Spectrum

  • The Crossover Mk2 split control structure provides individual LOW PASS and HIGH PASS tuning:
  • X-FREQ & X-OVER Switches: Choose between three main bands (50–120 Hz, 300–720 Hz, and 1.5–3.6 kHz) and dial in six distinct frequency steps per band, yielding 18 precise crossover points per section.
  • Slope Selection: Fine-tune integration with switchable 12 dB or 24 dB roll-off rates.
  • High Pass Bypass: Turn off the High Pass filter completely if you prefer running main speakers full-range.

Phase Sync and Power Management

A variable phase control knob allows a full 360° phase alignment range (0° to 180° and 0° to -180°) to ensure your subwoofers and main speakers play in perfect physical time alignment. When phase correction isn't required, the circuit can be toggled completely off to remain isolated from the signal path.

For ease of integration, gold-plated RCA and XLR connections are active simultaneously on output, allowing versatile bi-amping setups. Additionally, the built-in 12V AMP CTL trigger connections allow the Crossover Mk2 to manage standby modes across up to four external power amplifiers seamlessly.
